The Game
Pick a Winner is a Premier League survival game. Each gameweek, you pick one team you think will win their match. If your team wins, you survive. If they lose or draw, you lose a life. The last player standing wins the prize pot.
Lives System
- You start with 3 lives.
- If your team wins, nothing happens — you keep all your lives.
- If your team loses or draws, you lose 1 life.
- When you reach 0 lives, you're eliminated from the game.
No Repeats
Once you pick a team, you cannot pick them again for the rest of the game. With 20 Premier League teams, you need to think ahead. Easy picks early could leave you stuck later in the season.
Deadlines & Missed Picks
- Each gameweek has a deadline — usually before the first kick-off. You must submit your pick before the deadline.
- First missed deadline: you are auto-assigned the bottom-of-the-table team. No extra life penalty, but you're stuck with whatever result they get.
- Second+ missed deadline: auto-assigned the bottom team and you lose 1 life as a penalty. Don't forget to pick!
Multiple Entries
You can enter up to 3 times per game. Your first entry costs £11 and additional entries cost £10 each. Each entry is independent — they have their own lives, picks, and streaks.
Entry Fees & Prize Pot
- A small admin fee (£1) is deducted from each entry. The rest goes into the prize pot.
- Payments are handled securely via Stripe. You must pay for your entry before you can make picks.
- The more players, the bigger the pot!
Bonus Prizes
On top of the main prize, bonus prizes are awarded throughout the season:
Mr Consistency — £10 / £5
Hit a 6-game win streak and earn a £10 bonus. Keep the streak going and earn £5 for every additional winning gameweek.
One of a Kind — £10
If you are the only entry to pick a winning team in a gameweek, you earn a £10 bonus. Available in the first 10 gameweeks only.
Winner Takes All
When the game ends, the remaining prize pot (entry fees minus admin fees and bonuses already paid) goes to the winner. If multiple players survive, it's split equally.
Postponed & Cancelled Matches
If your team's match is postponed or cancelled, it counts as a loss for that gameweek. This is to keep the game fair and prevent players from benefiting from fixture disruptions. Choose teams with reliable fixtures when possible.
